How much does it cost to compete in a bikini competition?

May 14, 2017

It seems like just yesterday you were reading Goodnight Moon and singing "You are my Sunshine" to me. We would have lunch at the old root beer stand.

You took care of me and my sisters; you made sure we had the things we needed. You taught us how to cook, clean, and earn things for ourselves.

You showed strength, even in weaker times of our lives. I look up to you in so many ways.

I was always able to talk to you about anything. I was never afraid to tell you my secrets or how I felt. Even though I usually do the talking; you always listen.

You taught me to follow my dreams and never give up. You support me in every aspect of my life, and cheer me along the way.

You taught me how to be my true self, to be a genuine and honest person.

One of the most beautiful inside and out, caring, creative and talented beyond belief.

You used to just be my mommy.
Now, you are one of my best friends.

But, you will always be my hero.

I couldn't be more proud to have you as my mom.

I am not a competitive person. I don't really care if I win or I lose, I'm content either way. This is how I thought before I ever stepped on stage.

It gives me chills because I can still remember the exact way I felt when I stepped into the room of my first patient-during my first clinical rotation.I didn't really know what to expect. I never spent time in a hospital, this was all new to me. I had my shiny stethoscope, my purple pen light, my fresh pair of scrubs with my school name patch sewn neatly onto the sleeve, and a clip board with my "care plan" for my patient that day. All my ducks were in a row. I had passed my physical assessment class and I could take vital signs. I thought I was going to have a nice easy day with my "sweet little old patient," and maybe take their blood pressure. I was CLUELESS.

Growing up I never played sports, never really had a hobby, always bounced around activities and groups of friends. I never had a place I felt like I truly belonged or could be myself.
